There’s a lot to love about being an indie author. But we all know it’s not easy, either.
Last fall, I ran a survey to better understand independent authors’ biggest challenges, goals, and needs, and as I reviewed the results, one thing became abundantly clear: as lonely and individual as a writing practice can seem, the authors around me are not alone in the obstacles they’re facing and the dreams they’re striving toward.
What are the top three challenges?
I don’t have regular time to write.
I don’t know how to build a sustainable writing practice.
I don’t know if I have the skills to bring my vision to life.
Wow, that sounds like me.
If any of those challenges resonate with you, first of all, I feel you, friend. I’ve been helping authors overcome these challenges for years—and I’ve been doing a lot of work to overcome them in my own writing practice, as well. In my 23-page e-book, I’m sharing my two cents on overcoming each of these challenges, along with some reflection questions designed to help you apply my insights to your own writing life.
I hope the tips and prompts in the e-book will energize you to reinvigorate your writing practice—whatever that looks like in your life—and make progress you’re proud of on your work in progress.
